The star of the Kanchana and Muni franchises has now come forward to state that he will be a ‘kaavalan’ for Rajini and enter politics.

“I’m pleased to announce that today evening onwards I will officially join Rajinikanth sir’s campaign and be his ‘soldier’. I will begin this new journey at the temple I built for my mother at Ambattur,” the actor told DTNext. Rajinikanth had earlier remarked that he did not need party members per se – but guardians who would stand by his ideologies and support him actively.

Lawrence has always been associated with a number of causes, by being prominently involved in rescue operations during the 2015 floods, as well as the pro-jallikattu protests. A couple of days before Rajinikanth’s big announcement, Lawrence had urged him to take the next step with a music video - Vaa Thalaiva Vaa.
