After filing his nomination at the Sulur Taluk Office, Palanisamy told reporters, that he would take efforts to stop the erection of transmission towers in fertile farmlands in Sulur area.

“Just like in Kerala, the power cables will be taken underground without disturbing the farming activities. Also, more than 30,000 power looms have been closed due to GST issue in Sulur area.  I would take efforts to revive them,” he said.

Stating that a video has been circulated in WhatsApp raising suspicion on the sudden demise of former Sulur MLA Kanagaraj, Palanisamy said, “If I win, then I would recommend for an investigation on his death to find out the truth.”

In his affidavit, Palanisamy had declared a total of 13.5 crore in movable and immovable assets. While filing the nomination, the former DMK minister was accompanied by AV Velu, who is the party in-charge for the elections and Singanallur constituency MLA N Karthik.
