Heavy rains likely in 23 districts of Tamil Nadu today: RMC

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in 23 districts of Tamil Nadu today.

According to a statement issued by RMC, "Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal due to the prevailing atmospheric circulation over Tamil Nadu. The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Madurai, Sivaganga, Pudukottai, Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Salem, Tirupattur, Tiruchy, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall."

"As far as Chennai is concerned, the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to occur in a few areas of the city," it added.
