On behalf of industries and industrial bodies in Coimbatore, ICCIC president Vanitha Mohan congratulated the Chief Minister for taking the initiative. She said the government will reap Rs.11,000 crore worth benefits by savings in interest cost by its power distribution companies, mitigating transmission losses and initiating measures such as improving energy efficiency and coal availability.
By signing the MoU the State would take over 75 per cent of debut to the tune of Rs. 30,420 crore of the Tangedco, she further added. “All the participating states in the UDAY scheme will undertake to achieve operational and financial turnaround,” she said.
Vanitha Mohan further added that the chamber of commerce would initiate measures to create large scale awareness among the citizens and industries in this region to encourage them to collaborate with the Government to improve energy efficiency.
