CHENNAI: Police here have registered an FIR against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) chief coordinator Seeman under two sections for his remarks criticising the judiciary in a YouTube interview in November 2024.

Following the interview, a complaint was lodged by a lawyer seeking action against Seeman, but police did not take any action initially, sources said.

The complainant then moved to a lower court, which dismissed the plea. Based on the directions of the Madras High Court, as the petitioner moved an appeal, the police filed a case. The Tirumangalam police have now registered a case under sections 196 and 353 of the BNS against Seeman.
