Marine engineer dies of cardiac arrest mid-sea

A marine engineer from Thanjavur died of cardiac arrest on board an English cargo vessel which was on its way from Vishakapatnam to Dubai ferrying palmolein oil.

The ship was docked at Chennai port with permission and the Harbour police was informed. They later shifted the body of the engineer, G Sivaraj (28), to Stanley Hospital. Police said that the kin of the deceased have been informed and they would receive the body from the hospital. 

They also said there was no suspicion in the death and doctors reportedly confirmed the reason for his death as cardiac arrest.
