Man held for forcing women into prostitution in Chennai

CHENNAI: The anti vice squad of Chennai police arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly forcing gullible young women into prostitution.

Four women were rescued from an apartment complex in Anna Nagar. They were admitted to a government home for women.

The arrested person was identified as M Mohammed of Kayalpattinam in Tuticorin district.

Police said that he lured young women, who come to the city with aspirations, to break into the film and television industry and forced them into prostitution.

He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody. Hunt is on for two of his associates, Anbu and Sathyamoorthy.
