

CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation has announced that special camps will be organised at all 4,079 polling stations across Chennai district on January 10 (Saturday) and January 11 (Sunday), 2026, to help eligible citizens submit applications related to the electoral roll.
As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, a Special Summary Revision of the electoral rolls is under way in Chennai district, and the draft electoral roll was published on December 19, 2025. Following its publication, the period for filing claims and objections has been fixed from December 19, 2025, to January 18, 2026, said a Daily Thanthi report.
During this claims and objections period, special camps were earlier conducted at all polling stations on December 27 and 28, 2025, and January 3 and 4, 2026. The upcoming camps on January 10 and 11 are a continuation of this exercise.
Citizens whose names are not included in the draft electoral roll, as well as eligible voters who have completed 18 years of age, can apply for inclusion of their names by submitting Form 6 along with a declaration form. Any voter whose name already appears in the electoral roll of a constituency may file objections to proposed inclusions or seek deletion of existing names using Form 7.
Requests for change of address, correction of entries in the electoral roll, replacement of the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC), and marking voters as persons with disabilities (PwDs) can be submitted using Form 8, the release said.
