Black magic practitioner found dead in house; Murder suspected

CHENNAI: A 39-year-old man allegedly practicing sorcery was found dead inside his house in Padi Kuppam near Thirumangalam on Friday morning. Since there were injuries on his head, Police suspect it to be a case of murder.

The deceased was identified as Syed Sikander. He was last seen on Wednesday night by his friends.On Thursday , alarmed over Sikander not responding to phone calls for over a day, his friend broke open the front door and found him dead with injuries on his head and alerted the authorities.

Thirumangalam Police rushed to the scene on investigations and moved his body to a government hospital for post-mortem and have begun investigations. Police investigations revealed that Sikander too was involved in an assault case and used to sign at the Thirumangalam police station.

Originally from Old Washermanpet area, Sikander got separated from his family three years ago after he learnt and started practicing black magic and started living in a rented house in Vinayagar Street, Gandhi Nagar, Padi Kuppam, police investigations revealed.

Police sources said that two persons have surrendered at a court in Madurai in connection with the murder. According to police, one of the accused was irate as the deceased was in an alleged extra marital relationship with his mother and plotted the murder.
