The incident happened on June 20 when the cricketer went to Tiruvanmiyur in a car from his house in Besant Nagar. The traffic police, who had been posted on East Coast Road in Tiruvanmiyur intercepted the car, as the Commissioner had advised against using vehicles unless during emergency situations.

As Singh, who was behind the wheel, did not possess an e-pass, the car was seized. The Commissioner recently said that seized vehicles will be handed over to the owners only after June 30.
