DT Next Campus: SRIHER launches new CT scanner

CHENNAI: Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) has launched South Asia’s first state-of-the-art, fully loaded GE Revolution Apex Elite 512-slice Spectral CT scanner.

It was inaugurated by Dr TS Swaminathan, Former Director, Barnard Institute of Radiology, Madras Medical College, in the presence of the Chancellor, VR Venkataachalam.

Salient Features of the CT scanner include ECG less and drug less cardiac CT in a single breath hold, non dependent on heart rate low radiation dose using AI based deep learning image reconstruction, fast stroke protocol in less than 5 minutes, fastest rotation time with highest temporal resolution, spectral imaging with dual energy for all cases and shadow based high noon CT navigation device for precise needle placement.
