Chennai Metro Rail records average ridership spike of 2.9 lakh in September

September 06 recorded the highest passenger flow for the month of September, with 3,74,087 passengers

CHENNAI: The Chennai Metro Rail recorded a marginal ridership spike as the average daily ridership rose to 3.09 lakh for September. The average daily ridership in August was at 3.07 lakh. As per the press note from the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), in September (30 days), CMRL recorded 92.77 lakh passengers in the month.

While the ridership for August (31 days) was at 95.43 lakh. On September 6, the Chennai Metro Rail recorded the highest passenger flow of 3.74 lakh passengers. On the account of Gandhi Jayanthi on Wednesday, the Chennai Metro Rail will operate trains as per the Sunday schedule between 5 am and 11 pm.
