CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has demanded answers from Chief Minister MK Stalin following the leaked old audio clip involving DMK deputy general secretary A Raja with purported 'revelations' about the 2G case.
Palaniswami said the viral audio clip raised unanswered questions related to the 2G spectrum case, demanding clarity on the flow of funds linked to the DMK leadership and seeking to know what role Stalin played in the corruption case. He further alleged that political secrets surrounding the 2G case may have influenced the formation of political alliances, including the DMK’s ties with the Congress party.
Palaniswami asserted that the audio confirms what the opposition has consistently argued that Stalin functions only as a figurehead, lacking both authority and independent decision-making as Chief Minister.
He questioned whether Stalin would continue to remain silent even after a senior leader from his own party had publicly undermined the CM’s credibility. Palaniswami noted that when the DMK’s deputy general secretary reiterates what the opposition has been alleging for years, the Chief Minister cannot evade accountability.
The AIADMK leader stated that the incident exposes a deeper crisis of leadership within the ruling party. Palaniswami insisted that the Chief Minister must respond to the details revealed in the audio clip.
