Anna University, NSEA to introduce PG programme in financial analytics

CHENNAI: As the demand for data-driven finance is on the rise across the country, Anna University has tied up with National Stock Exchange Academy (NSEA) to introduce a regular post-graduate certification course for professionals and final year students in financial analytics.

Financial analytics will provide statistical approaches to evaluate a financial instrument, a business, a sector, or the market as a whole, and forecasting future performance.

Sources from the university said that the duration of the course will be 11 months with 10 modules. Live online sessions, weekend sessions, hands-on activities and interactive sessions will be available for participants. The modules include financial statement analysis, essentials for financial analytics, financial econometrics, time series analysis and forecasting, technical analysis, python for financial analytics and among others.

The course will start from March this year. The training programme will be conducted by industry practitioners from NSEA and academicians from Anna University. Candidates, who join the programme/course, will receive a PG certification in financial analytics jointly from Anna University and NSEA.

Professionals in banking, financial services and insurance companies, IT professionals working in finance platforms, risk management professionals, treasury management and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply. The eligibility criteria to join the course include graduates from any discipline from a recognised university, with more than 50% marks or equivalent. Graduation students in their final year are also eligible.
