What are the essential qualities for a good stylist?

A stylist helps people in picking up clothes that suit their personality and bring out the best in them. To become a great stylist, one must have a keen sense of fashion, willingness to listen to your client, ability to analyse their personality and push them a bit further to bring out the best in them. Creativity and aesthetics are the keywords for stylist. A stylist does not just pick outfits; they help in giving you an appropriate look. It could come through mix-andmatch pieces of clothing, accessories, footwear or a trendy bag.

How do you perceive Chennai’s sense of style?

Chennaiites are known for their understated elegance and wherever they are in the country or abroad, they stay true to their sense of fashion. Although many would believe it has a conservative fashion sense, I feel it is steadily moving fashion forward. With travel and exposure, many of them are opening up to experimentation.

Tell us about the special event planned for the launch of the fashion label

I am planning to dress up nine regular women from different walks of life in nine different looks at the launch of Peachoo at Amethyst. It will be a mix-n-match of various garments from sarees, crop tops, skirts to blouses and trousers and more. We have come up with different looks after interacting with them and in accordance with their body sizes.
