27 pc higher: India reports 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases in 24 hours
India on Thursday reported 2,47,417 fresh Covid cases, around 27 per cent higher than yesterday's tally. On Wednesday, the nation recorded 1,94,720 cases.

With today's tally, active cases has touched 11,17,351. As many as 84,825 were discharged from hospitals post recovery.
With Omicron driving the next wave of Covid, the new variant's count shot up to 5,488.
The daily positivity rate of the country is at 13.11%.
