With New Zealand’s Labour prime minister, Jacinda Ardern’s popularity in the accendo she has not shied away from floating the ‘four day week’ idea for the nation . Her deft handling of corona outbreak in her country has just won her laurels.

Earlier the Christchurch incidence was perceived to have been handled well by her government.

The restructuring of the country’s economy is on the cards as the its robust tourism industry is  targeted for a face lift after a severe lockdown.  In this context the  ‘four day week’ idea got floated. Though not a panacea of any of employer- employee woes, it remains a turf of the employers. With all the popularity she is enjoying right now she is emboldened to experiment with new ideas, albeit with subtle phrase  “I hear lots of people suggesting we should have a four-day work week. Ultimately that really sits between employers and employees,” 

Across the globe, social distancing couple with work-from-home culture has inculcated new work culture with constant improvisations in productivity and flexibility. Though new challenges have emerged with home-schooling of kids and managing the work-challenges, many have appreciated the extra time spent with their kids.
