Plan your hangout with Google’s “Who’s Down”
Would you want Google involved in planning your next hangout with the app Who’s Down? This is the question you should answer first.

Google is yet again encroaching on human life, and this time, us kids. Google has launched an app called Who’s Down which is a platform that friends can use to plan their hangouts. The app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store since this morning.
Who’s Down essentially allows friends interested in similar activities to group together somewhere and do that activity; the app is invite only at present and is only available to college students, but the app does not require people to sign-up with some academic email id on the .edu domain, but it does ask people to enter the name of the institution before joining the wait list.
The app is used by first choosing the status that you are “down to hang” to meet people and then you put the name of the activity for which you are “down” to meet; the app also provides a list of the activities that are popular or those that fit your taste. After choosing “down to hang,” the app waits on people who might also be “down to hang.” When people show interest in grouping for your activity, the app takes you to a chat room where all the conversations will disappear after 24 hours of last activity.
The niche that “Who’s Down” has been made has not been very accommodating, as not many people really use such apps. It is a matter of time before we’ll know how good a venture “Who’s Down” is.
