Stalin files nomination for DMK President
The General Council meeting of DMK will be held on October 9, in Wings Convention centre in St.George school in Aminjikarai.
CHENNAI: DMK President and Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday filed nomination for the post of party president.
DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan and party Treasurer TR Balu also filed nominations for their respective posts.
The election for the posts is scheduled at the General Council meeting of the party to be held on Sunday, at a private school in Aminjikarai. However, as there were no other nominations for the posts, the top three leaders are likely to be elected unopposed.
After filing nominations, Stalin along with senior party leaders visited the venue and inspected the arrangements for the general council meeting.
In the meeting, the elevation of MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi as the new Deputy General Secretary of the party is also expected along with the increase of the number of Deputy General Secretaries from five to seven.
