CHENGALPATTU: Sleuths from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) on Friday arrested a rural welfare officer for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe from a woman in Chengalpattu.

The complainant Mathiyazhagi, a resident of Venangupattu in Sithamoor had approached the rural welfare officer to submit an application requesting her help to get an aid of Rs 50,000 for her two girl children under a government scheme.
