Cuddalore firecracker unit blast: One more fatality as the toll rises to 8

One Anitha (22), injured in the blast in Cuddalore, succumbed to the injuries.

She was being treated at the JIPMER.

Early on September 4, a firecracker unit in Cuddalore's Kattumannar kovil was ripped through in an accident.

Five people, on the very spot lost their lives while scores were injured and buildings in the vicinity got damaged.

While CM K Palaniswami had announced solatium to the families of the deceased.

The point to be noted is, all those died in this accident are women. Apart from Anitha, the other seven fatalities were identified as Malarkodi, Latha, Rajathi, Gandhimathi, Rukmani, Chitra, and Rathinammal.
