1 case in Ariyalur, 2 in Perambalur, Karur nil
While Karur district achieved no COVID-19 case after the discharge of the only patient on Thursday, a man from Ariyalur who worked as a coolie in Chennai’s Koyambedu market and two from Perambalur who reached his village tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

Soon after the two persons from Labbaikudiadu and Athiyur in Perambalur had tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, they were rushed to Tiruchy MGMGH. Among them, the patient from Athiyur was working as a lab assistant at the Primary Health Cen tre, Athiyur.As many as 181 COVID-19 patients were admitted in the Karur medical college hospital for treatment. Of the total 181 patients, 42 were from Karur, 79 from Dindigul, 58 from Namakkal, one each from Theni and Tirunelveli districts.
With prolonged treatment, as many as 41 from Karur were discharged on Wednesday and the last one was discharged on Thursday. The Transport Minister MR Vijayabaskar sent off the last patients in the hospital premises. With this, Karur achieved zero COVID19 case on Thursday.
However, treatment for the 14 patients including six from Dindigul and eight from Namakkal is underway and the medical officials said that they are also recovering fast and would be discharged soon.
