Balakrishnan (50), a resident of Puthu Naduvalur in Perambalur district, working as a contract employee in Tangedco, gave his SBI debit card to his son-in-law Balamurugan (26) , a farmer from the same village, and asked him to withdraw his salary and purchase Pongal gift. Balamurugan, who went to the SBI ATM kiosk at Venkatesapuram in Perambalur, inserted the debit card, but he was struggling to withdraw money when an unidentified man, who was standing behind him in the queue, volunteered Balamurugan to help him withdraw money. Suddenly, the unidentified man handed over the debit card to Balamurugan claiming that there was no sufficient balance in the account and so Balamurugan left the place. Later, Balamurugan tried to draw money from another kiosk at Kalyan Nagar but the PIN was wrong and so he went back to the house and handed over the card. However, Balakrishnan, who saw the card, was shocked to see that it was not his card. But by the time, Balakrishnan received a message mentioning that he had drawn Rs 30,000.
