2 yrs on, missing lingam found in garbage heap

Police said that when the lingam and the gold jewellery went missing on the night of January 9, 2017, from Sri Manonmani temple in the zamin, the then SP Ponni formed two special teams to find the temple property and nab the culprits. As the police were failed to trace the lingam, residents and devotees created a furore.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, when Pachayappan, a zamin conservancy staff, found the lingam while burning the accumulated garbage on the premises. He immediately informed the Vettavalam police who in turn alerted the Idol Wing’s Additional Superintendent of Police (ADSP) Madhavan. The ADSP along with other police officials visited the spot and began preliminary investigations. The police are investigating into the sudden appearance of the lingam in the garbage heap. When news about the finding of lingam spread, public from various areas came to the spot and urged to install the lingam back in the temple as soon as possible.
