Stalin: Order DVAC probe into Cognizant case
Leader of Opposition MK Stalin has demanded a DVAC probe into the issue of tech major Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) paying Rs 26 crore bribe to officials of the ruling AIADMK for availing building approval for its KITS campus in Siruseri.

Referring to imposition of 27 million US dollars fine on CTS by a US court for admitting to paying Rs 26 crore bribe to officials of state government for availing building approval and EB connection for the KITS campus, Stalin said the DVAC should take the help of the CBI and Interpol to collect the relevant documents in the case and bring to books those involved in it.
Alleging that the bribe was paid not just at official level and the officers were instructed to collect the bribe on their behalf by the Ministers, Stalin accused seven AIADMK Ministers, who held housing, electricity and environment portfolio in 2012-2016 period of the then AIADMK regime of also taking bribe from the tech major.
Claiming that it was no secret the bribe was collected for building approval on square feet basis, Stalin said the CTS case in US has exposed the bitter truth and level of corruption in the state under the AIADMK regime has been put on international map.Â
Stalin also remarked that Tamils living here and abroad have been shamed by the corruption of the AIAMDK regime, which, contrary to the claims made in the Global Investors Meet that investors were being lured to the state, has pushed investors away from Tamil Nadu and jeopardised the future of Tamil youths by its corruption.
Urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP regime not to exploit the Rs 26 crore corruption of the AIADMK to threaten the latter to forge alliance for the Parliamentary elections, Stalin advised the Centre to extend all possible support to DVAC to uphold justice.
