Chandrababu Naidu, Pinarayi Vijayan to attend unveiling of late DMK chief's statue

The Chief Ministers of southern states, including N Chandrababu Naidu and Pinarayi Vijayan, would attend a function here on December 16 to unveil a statue of late DMK chief M Karunanidhi, party president MK Stalin said Monday.

The programme would be attended by Naidu and Vijayan, Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala, respectively, besides V Narayanaswamy, Puducherry Chief Minister, Stalin told reporters.

"While the statue-unveiling is scheduled at Anna Arivalayam (the DMK headquarters), a public meeting will be held later at the YMCA Ground," he said.

Works were progressing well in this regard, he added.

Karunanidhi passed away on August 7 this year and he was buried at the Marina beachfront.
