Response Team formed to handle wildlife conflict
A 12-member Rapid Response Team (RRT) has been constituted to handle human-animal conflicts in the Nilgiris district.

The team has been trained to handle such conflicts, besides other emergencies, including forest fires, rescue of wild animals and snakes and crowd control tactics during conflict situations. Launching the RRT, District Collector, Innocent Divya handed over the keys of two RRT vehicles to the Forest Department.Â
A hotline number — 18004253968 — has also been set up for the public to inform the department about conflicts.
