Ready to contest polls if nominated: Udhayanidhi
Clearing the air on the speculation surrounding his political entry, actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin said that he is ready to contest in the elections as soon as his party, the DMK, nominates him.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Udhayanidhi, in an interview to a website, said that as actors have been taking a political plunge, he would like to foray into the arena in the near future. When DTNext contacted the actor-producer, he said, “At that time, I only extended my support and wished good luck to the actors who are taking a political plunge this year.
I have been a part of the DMK since I was born. Before films, I was actively involved in the party and even canvassed for my father MK Stalin, when he contested from Thousand Lights. I have also been simultaneously working for the welfare of people despite not contesting.”
Udhayanidhi said he will contest the assembly elections when the DMK office-bearers nominate him. “If they nominate me, I can’t say no to them. I will contest.” While stars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vishal have no prior experience in politics, will Udhayanidhi have an advantage? “I can’t comment on that and I leave it to people to decide,” he said.
