The Union Minister was here to participate in the launch of the second phase of MODI fest (Making of Developed India Festival). Speaking to reporters at the airport, he said, “Congress and their allies, who were in power at the Centre for nearly five decades, have neglected them for long and the Union government needed to formulate long term solutions to redress their grievances.”

Terming the killing of five protesting farmers in Madhya Pradesh earlier this week sad and unfortunate, he said that the issue should not be politicised. Commenting on the present crisis in the AIADMK, Naidu distanced the BJP from it. He said that it is the party’s internal issue.

“OPS or EPS, we are ready to extend support to those who are in power,” he said. Stating that the Centre is only concerned about the welfare of the people, he added that they would focus on politics only during the elections. On the upcoming presidential election, the Union Minister said that their candidate will be the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate and not the BJP’s candidate. “We will discuss with the NDA leaders and announce the candidate,” he said.

Representatives of various industrial bodies met him and made a representation on their requirements.
