The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, on Tuesday, had reserved the final order in actor Dhanush case in which a couple from Melur in Madurai district claimed that the actor was their son.

The Melur couple, Kathiresan and Meetachi, had claimed that Dhanush (Kalaiselvan) was their son and he had run away while studying in class 11. They also submitted proof to support their claim, where they said Dhanush had birthmarks on his body which matched their son's birthmarks.
Dhanush rejected their claims and accused the couple of blackmailing him, to extract large amount of money. However, as all the documents filed by Dhanush supporting his identity were found to be fake, the court allowed physical examination of Dhanush's body for birthmarks.
A report was submitted and it went against the claims of the Melur couple. When the case was heard on Tuesday there were heated arguments. Counsel of the petitioners said that the report submitted by the doctors should not be considered as there are chances of destruction of body marks using laser and other advanced techniques.
The defence counsel also said that there is no link between the Melur couple and actor Dhanush. The judge also questioned the Melur parents on, why they did not file a complaint when their son ran away in 2002. Following the arguments the judge reserved the final order.
