Police sources said that of the four Bangladeshis, two had sneaked into India through West Bengal while the other two had come to India on a tourist Visa and were illegally working.

The arrested foreign nationals were identified as M Mohammed Sameem (29), A Mohammed Helal (29), K Mohammed Rasavi Kareem (30) and M Mohammed Nazrul Islam (26). Police sources said that Mohammed Sameem and Mohammed Helal had managed to sneak into India after paying a bribe of Rs 500.

Before coming to Tirupur in mid-February, Sameem and Helal had undergone training in tailoring at knitwear units in West Bengal. Mohammed Rasavi Kareem and Mohammed Nazrul Islam had used a tourist visa to come to Tirupur. It is learnt that they were staying in a rented house owned by Velliangiri of Sundarapuram near K.S. Garden in Tirupur.

During inquiries, the four accused told cops that attempted to get Aadhaar card as they were planning to settle down in Tirupur. For this they had sought the help of Ravishankar (26) of Bihar, who was residing at Vengamedu and running a mobile phone shop in the same locality. It is said that Ravishankar tried to get Aadhaar cards for the Bangladesh nationals for a commission on Tuesday.

On Tuesday Velliangiri grew suspicious as he spotted some new faces in his house and alerted the police, who picked up all of them for questioning. During inquiries, they revealed their plan. Subsequently, police booked the Bangladeshis, Ravishankar and one person under various sections, arrested and lodged them in jail under judicial custody.

Further investigations are on to trace their antecedence such as suspected involvement in any crimes and the purpose of their stay here.
