As soon as the Lok Sabha met for the day, six AIADMK members rushed to the well raising slogans seeking a CBI probe into the death of the then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa . They were holding placards with the picture of Jayalalithaa laying in state. Amid slogan-shouting by them, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the House for 10 minutes at 11.10 am when the Question Hour was in progress.
Soon after the House re-assembled, the AIADMK members again raised slogans and then staged a walk-out after their demand for an adjournment motion to discuss the issue was turned down by the Chair. While a section of the AIADMK MPs are supporting V K Sasikala, some others are with former Chief Minister O Panneerselvam.
In the Rajya Sabha, three AIADMK members, including V Maitreyan and L Sasikala Pushpa, rushed into the well several times, carrying placards. However, each time they were persuaded by Deputy Chairman P J Kurien to return to their seats. He said their demand to raise the issue as part of Zero Hour has been accepted.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Maitreyan said, “With a sense of deep agony and anguish, we demand a central probe into the circumstances surrounding Jayalalithaa’s death.”
Amid din due to disruption by other AIADMK members, he said the central government should order a probe, either by the CBI, SIT or a judical investigation “immediately”. His entire statement could not be heard.

Kurien repeatedly warned Vijila Sathyananth (AIADMK) not to disrupt Maitreyan. The Deputy Chairman also warned he would taken action against her. “You are a lady member. I respect you. You are my sister, But that does not mean you can misbehave,” he said, adding that he would have taken action had any other male member done so.
