Pushpa, who met Rajnath in the national capital December 19 afternoon, submitted a four-page petition urging the minister to order a probe by “an independent and impartial agency” in to the death of Jayalalithaa. Describing the death of a leader of Jayalalithaa’s stature as an “exception situation having ramifications throughout the state of Tamil Nadu, she said the matter requires an independent investigation which should be monitored by retired judges other than the state.”

The AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP who has been raising doubts about Jayalalithaa’s death since the beginning, said, “We have lost faith in the Tamil Nadu government. The entire Tamil community in the world is expecting the central government to bring justice to the issue and establish truth.”

Alleging that persons who were present at the time of Jayalalithaa’s death had faced serious allegations of conspiracy to eliminate her and they were sent out of her house, the petition questioned the absence of a single photograph or video of Jayalalithaa (at hospital) till her death and asked the home minister to direct the CBI to investigate the suspicious death of Jayalalithaa and order a judicial probe in to the death under the aegis of a retired supreme court judge. Talking to DT Next over phone, Pushpa told from Delhi that, “He (Rajnath singh) said he will issue directions on it.”
