    Class 12 boards to begin from March 2, Class 10 exams from March 8

    Higher Secondary Examinations for the academic year 2016-17 will commence on March 2, 2017, and continue up to March 31, an official release from the Directorate of Government Examinations Tamil Nadu has stated on December 16.

    The examinations will commence at 10 am and end at 1.15 pm with the first ten minutes allotted for reading of the question paper and the next five minutes allotted for verification of the particulars by the candidates. The actual duration of the examinations would be three hours. While the exams for language and English papers would be conducted between March 02 and March 08, the main subjects in various streams begin with Commerce, Home Science and Geogrpahy on March 10 and end with Biology, History, Botany and Business Maths exams on March 31, according to the release. 

    Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) exams for the present academic year will begin on March 8, 2017 and continue up to March 30. According to the directive from the Directorate of Government Examinations, the timings of the SSLC exams would be between 9.15 am and 12 noon with the first 15 minutes allotted for reading the question paper and verification of particulars given by candidates. The actual duration of this exam would be just two and half hours.
