Sanjay Yadav stars in MRC ‘A’ win over India Pistons

CHENNAI: Riding on a fantastic spell from Bhargav Bhatt, Vijay CC eased to a thumping 10-wicket win over MCC in the sixth round of the TNCA First Division League here on Monday. Bhargav finished with a match-haul of 12 for 115 as MCC was skittled out for 143 in its second innings.

Elsewhere, defending champion MRC ‘A’ beat India Pistons by seven wickets with R Sanjay Yadav performing a stellar show with both bat and ball. Sanjay first picked up six for 57 to bowl out Pistons for 153 in its second innings. Set to chase 135 in a minimum of 35 overs, MRC ‘A’ reached there in just 22 overs with Sanjay, opening the innings, remaining unbeaten on 82 (80b, 8x4, 3x6).

In another match, Nelson skipper Shoaib Md. Khan struck 126 (208b, 15x4, 1x6), his first ton of this season, to help his team take first innings lead against Alwarpet. Nelson had another centurion in Robin Bist who remained unbeaten on 102 (116b, 5x4, 4x6), his third hundred this season, and, along with Swapnil Singh, added 125 runs for the sixth wicket.
