Off-spinner Jalaj Saxena scalped six wickets in the second innings as Jolly Rovers CC demolished MRC ‘A’ by 10 wickets on the third and final day of the TNCA First Division match at the SSN College Ground here on Wednesday.

CHENNAI: Off-spinner Jalaj Saxena scalped six wickets in the second innings as Jolly Rovers CC demolished MRC ‘A’ by 10 wickets on the third and final day of the TNCA First Division match at the SSN College Ground here on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, MRC ‘A’ opener NS Chaturved (127 off 191 balls, 17 fours, 1 six) had scored a fighting century to give his team a glimmer of hope. At the IIT-M Chemplast Ground, the Alwarpet CC duo of P Shijit Chandran (157 off 314 balls, 15 fours, 1 six) and Himmat Singh (131 off 240 balls, 15 fours, 1 six) scored tons, but they could not prevent Sea Hawks CC from taking the first innings lead.

BRIEF SCORES:At IIT-M Chemplast Ground: Sea Hawks CC 474 drew with Alwarpet CC 389 in 128.2 overs (Himmat Singh 131, P Shijit Chandran 157, S Rithik Easwaran 41, S Guru Sayee 4/59, M Silambarasan 4/105). Points: Sea Hawks 5(12); Alwarpet 1(2).

At SSN College Ground: MRC ‘A’ 182 & 314 in 78.4 overs (NS Chaturved 127, B Anirudh Sitaram 46, Sanvir Singh 56, Jalaj Saxena 6/90) lost to Jolly Rovers CC 401/8 decl. & 97/0 in 18 overs (B Sai Sudharsan 56*). Points: Rovers 6(14); MRC ‘A’ 0(13).

At SRMC (Turf Ground): Madras CC 222 & 241/9 in 76 overs (Tushar Raheja 51, Aditya Sarvate 55*, P Vidyuth 3/63, M Ashwin 3/66) drew with Swaraj CC 341 in 90.3 overs (S Aravind 58, S Suresh Kumar 45, Arpit V Vasavada 81, R Nilesh Subramanian 55, Aditya Sarvate 3/47). Points: Swaraj 5(6); MCC 1(7).
