And it isn’t a surprise why CSK made fun of Manjrekar. After all, he had brandished its star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja as no more than a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer during one of his World Cup 2019 analysis. Unsurprisingly, he received a lot of flak from both the cricket fans as well as Jadeja.

The three-time champion taunted the controversial presenter with this post – “Need not hear the audio feed in bits and pieces anymore.” The former Mumbai captain has been a part of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) commentary panel for several important ICC events ever since making his debut as a commentary after retiring in 1996. While he has gone on to become one of the most experienced commentators around the world, Manjrekar has also been involved in several controversies over the past few years.

Along with a statement, a reason has yet to be released by any official statement so as to why Sanjay Manjrekar was dropped. While providing a statement to the reporters, the BCCI source simply claimed that the esteemed commentator was excluded from the commentary panel simply due to the fact that BCCI isn’t happy with his work.

It is important to note that the BCCI might decide to exclude Sanjay Manjrekar from the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) season panel, should the tournament be played on its postponed date of April 15.

The 54-year-old Mumbaikar wasn’t on the commentary panel for the India-South Africa series. Social media went berserk after the news broke out. Over the last couple of years, he has received a lot of flak from the fans. However, people deem his ouster may have been due to political reasons as well. Manjrekar was very vocal about CAA and also expressed his support for JNU. The cricketer turned commentator had given his thumbs up to Mumbai who protested and were standing with JNU.

But the one comment that CSK took exception to was his ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ about Ravindra Jadeja. During the 2019 World Cup, Jadeja played just one league game and that was against Sri Lanka. He returned with figures of 1/40. But before that, Sanjay Manjrekar who was on the World Cup commentary panel said that he is not a fan of a ‘bits and pieces cricketer’ like Jadeja.

It didn’t go down well with the Saurashtra all-rounder who took to Twitter to express his displeasure. Jadeja was agitated and said that he had enough of Manjrekar’s ‘verbal diarrhoea’. Jadeja was the standout player in the semi-final for India. Be it in the field, with the ball or with the bat, the left-handed all-rounder was simply brilliant. In fact, after Jadeja’s fifty, he was seen gesturing to Manjrekar in the commentary box as well. Former England skipper Michael Vaughan tried trolling the Indian commentator during the semi-final but ended up being blocked by Manjrekar.

Hence, this situation blew up quite a bit and Manjrekar received a lot of flak for this. However, he did admit in the post-show after the semi-final that ‘By bits ‘n’ pieces of sheer brilliance, he’s [Jadeja] ripped me apart on all fronts.’here was also a controversial duel with fellow commentator Harsha Bhogle taking a dig at his questionable expertise in the game during the pink-ball Test in Kolkata.
