Super Gillies retains Gandhi, Alexandar, Sasidev for TNPL 5
Defending champion Chepauk Super Gillies retained the trio of Kaushik Gandhi, Ramadoss Alexandar and U Sasidev ahead of the fifth edition of the Tamil Nadu Premier League, scheduled to take place later this year.
Chennai
All eight participating franchises were allowed to retain a maximum of three players, out of which two could be capped (cricketers with Tamil Nadu caps). Gandhi, who joined Super Gillies from Tuti Patriots during the 2019 trading window, will turn out for the two-time title-winner for the second time running.
Left-arm spinner Alexandar and middle-order batsman Sasidev will also don the CSG colours once again. TNPL 3 and 4 finalist Dindigul Dragons kept hold of India international Ravichandran Ashwin, R Vivek and M Silambarasan. Surprisingly, Narayan Jagadeesan and C Hari Nishaanth, who usually pile runs at the top, were not retained by DD.
The franchises were asked to submit their retention lists by January 5. Fresh registrations for all Tamil Nadu players who have not been retained will be issued from January 6. Forms will be available at the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association offices and TNCA’s website (www.tnca.cricket). The last date for submitting the forms is January 25.
