Ruby ready with support staff
Ruby Kanchi Warriors have a very down-to-earth support staff in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
Chennai
The Kancheepuram team, owned by Ashok Manor, Ruby Builders, has an able CEO in Bharath Kumar, who had played for Tamil Nadu and South Zone and coaches in S. Suresh (head) and Sreekumar Nair (assistant).
The advantage for Kanchi Warriors is that both Suresh and Sreekumar Nair have their feet on the ground and are close to first division action. While Suresh, who played for Vijay CC until recently, is managing India Cements team right now, Sreekumar Nair is both coach and player for Grand Slam.
“I have already prepared the list that I would like to have,” said Suresh at the function to unveil the team logo on Wednesday night. “It is a system and we are fifth in the order and we have short-listed the players.” Suresh had led Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy.
Sreekumar Nair, a former Kerala captain, has the reputation of hitting his state’s only triple hundred in Ranji Trophy. He said the Player Draft needed a few clarifications about outstation players and hence it was postponed to July 30. “Suresh and I are close to ground reality as we know all the players in the TNCA league,” said the former Kerala player.
CEO of Kanchi Warriors Bharath Kumar and Suresh would go to the Player Draft. Bharath said he would sit with his coaches in the next few days to complete their plan. Kanchi Warriors have also Manoj Kumar as physical trainer and Naveen Babu as team physio.
