Chennai: Gold surges by Rs 1,000 on April 10, 2026; check how much it costs

CHENNAI: A day after a fall of Rs 1,600 per sovereign (8 grams),  gold has now increased by Rs 1,000 on April 10.

The yellow metal is now priced at Rs 1,13,000 per sovereign and 14,125 per gram, an increase of Rs 125.

On April 9, gold was priced at Rs 1,12,000 per sovereign and Rs 14,000 per gram.

Silver prices increase

Silver prices increased by Rs 5 to sell for Rs 265 per gram (Rs 2,65,000 per kg) on April 10. On April 9, it was priced at Rs 260 per gram.

Gold rate today vs gold rate on this day, last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 68,480 per sovereign (Rs 8,560 per gram) on April 10, 2025, to Rs 1,13,000 per sovereign (Rs 14,125 per gram) on April 10, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 44,520 or about 65.01%.
