Two actors drown after stunt goes wrong
In a tragic incident, two cinema actors were feared drowned in the Tippegundanahalli lake in Tavarekere Police Station limits, when an action shot was being filmed for a Kannada movie in Ramanagara District.

Police said the hero of the film, Vijay, who along with two other actors Arun and Uday jumped from a helicopter into the lake which had depleted water level. Vijay reportedly was rescued by a rescue boats and the others could not be rescued and were missing. Though rescue boats were pressed for searching them one of them could not be used as its engine failed. Â The mishap exposed the police and district officials not ensuring the safety of the people who undertook such risky action shooting in the lake. Search was on to spot the missing two members of the film party, sources said. It was a case that the co actors had expressed that they did not know swimming. But still the shooting of the film went on and the helicopter flew dropping the three persons mid waters of the small water body. Acton director Ravi Varma was in charge of the shooting episode. Officials said the director has violated conditions put forth by the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board while giving permission. The conditions included ban on shooting in the prohibited areas and damages, if any, should be compensated.
