CHENNAI: We had earlier reported that the shoot of Vishal’s debut directorial Magudam has been wrapped up in Chennai. The team will be working on a minor patch in the first week of June. However, the project has been in post-production as it was being shot across different schedules. The latest update is that Magudam’s post-production work is taking place in full swing under Vishal Krishna’s supervision while he is shooting for crucial portions for Sundar C’s Purushan in Kolkata.
A source in the know told DT Next, “Vishal is shooting from 9 am to 6 pm for Purushan that has Tamannaah and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. The team has been shooting in Kolkata. This schedule will go on till May 29. The patchwork will take place in Chennai on June 1 and 2 before Vishal leaves for Purushan again. Post the shoot of Purushan, Vishal has been sitting down to edit Magudam at night and sleeps for a while before getting ready for Purushan’s shoot the next day.”
Magudam’s release date could be announced soon by the makers. It is to be noted that Magudam is the last and 99th production of iconic producer RB Choudhary. It has Dushara Vijayan and Anjali playing female leads and will have Vishal in triple role. GV Prakash is composing the music.
Meanwhile, Purushan could be a Pongal 2027 release and has Hip Hop Tamizha as the music director.
