Navajevan was travelling on his two-wheeler in Madanapuram when two men dragged him into the car after snatching the bike’s key from him. Later, the gang contacted Thangaraj and demanded Rs 5 lakh to release Navajevan. The father, however, informed the Peerkankaranai police and a team browed through CCTV footages in the locality were Navajevan’s scooter was parked.

With the help of mobile phone signals, the police traced the car and found it travelling near Maraimalainagar. The police team chased the car and rescued the boy before arresting all the trio. During the inquiry, the police found that Hariharan was fired because he showed interest in a girl who is Thangaraj’s relative.
