Two killed as lorry runs over them
Two friends, an autorickshaw driver and a lorry driver, who were drinking tea at a roadside shop were killed after a mini lorry ran over them near Pammal, early on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Selvam (45), an auto driver and a resident of Karaima Nagar in Anakaputhur and his friend Raja Krishnan (52), a lorry driver from Pammal.
Around 5 am on Wednesday morning, Selvam left home to the auto stand. While on his way, he met his friend Raja Krishnan near Erataipillayar Koil Street.
They both chatted for a while and went to have tea at the nearby stall.
Suddenly, a mini lorry, ferrying poultry chicken, lost control and ran over them, killing them on the spot. Both their bodies were sent to Chromepet Government Hospital.
Chromepet trafficinvestigation police have registered a case and arrested the lorry driver Rajavelu(31). Further investigation is on.
