Two siblings murdered in broad daylight

According to police, G Raja (30) and G Boopathy (24), the siblings were chatting with their friend Vadivelu (22) sitting in an auto owned by Raja around 9.40 am on Wednesday near Koppu bridge. Meanwhile, a nine-member gang that came to the spot in a Tata sumo and three motor cycles started attacking them with sickles. Boopathy, who was stabbed on the head and chest, succumbed to injuries on the spot. When Raja and Vadivelu to escape from the spot through a poultry farm located nearby, the gang caught Raja and chopped off both the limbs and also smashed the face, before leaving the spot. On information, the Jeeyapuram police rushed to the spot and rescued a badly-injured Vadivelu and sent him to a private hospital. 

Meanwhile, inquiries revealed that there was a dispute between the family of Ganesan (father of Raja and Boopathy) and their relative Nagaraj of the same place. Police suspect the family feud to be trigger for the deadly attack on the siblings. It is also suspected that Nagaraj, who was in the central prison a few months back in connection with the murder of Ramajayam of Koppu, must have planned the murder with a few other prisoners. He was out on bail last month. Superintendent of Police Senthil Kumar visited the spot and conducted an inquiry. He also formed a special team led by inspector Kennedy to nab the culprits.
