The Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) had issued ultimatum for government to appoint chairman of Fees Determining Committee for private matriculation schools in the state.
Madurai
The case, filed by Karthi, was heard on Monday and in the hearing Judges came down strongly on the government for not appointing a chairman to the Fees Determining Committee even after four months of schools reopening.Â
The court also questioned government that how could fees be determined when the Fees Determining Committee did not meet without the chairman.Â
When the court raised the question, the Public Prosecutor said that the names were already sent to the government and would inform the correct date of appointment after consulting with the state. But the court not satisfied with the reply of the Public Prosecutor issued an ultimatum to state government to appoint a chairman within four weeks.Â
The Judges also directed the state government to file compliance report and disposed the petition.Â
