‘A comic strip can convey entire idea in a nutshell’

R.K Laxman connected with people across all sections because of the social relevance and clarity of his sketches. And in the digital age, a comic strip that conveys an entire incident or an idea in a nutshell is what people prefer as opposed to a verbose write-up. Further, cartooning, apart from being a very powerful and intimate medium to project an idea, is also a refreshing hobby. 

What is the upcoming workshop aimed at?   

Most aspiring cartoonists limit their work to their sketch books because there isn’t enough awareness about platforms where they can exhibit their work and hone their skills further. Through the workshop, we hope to provide an opportunity to young artists to learn from and share their ideas with noted cartoonists like Chandamama fame Sankar among many others. 

Art education in schools has largely been limited to sketching popular figures and landscapes. In a bid to educate children that cartooning is also an interesting career path that one can pursue and not something that is restricted to their drawing boards, there should be regular classes in schools and monthly workshops.
