More trouble for Vijayakanth
DMDK chief Vijayakanth is back in the firing line as the Madras High Court has taken up the issue of him spitting at a group of journalists.
Chennai
Justice R Subbiah on hearing a plea moved by advocate G Devarajan, directed the inclusion of Kotturpuram police under whose limits the incident transpired as a respondent and directed it to file a counter. The case has been posted for further hearing to January 18.Â
The petitioner contended that Vijayakanth’s behaviour in public despite being Opposition leader of Tamil Nadu State Assembly is derogatory and highly condemnable. He also noted that an online complaint he had filed on December 28 to the police seeking to lodge a complaint under IPC for defaming the journalists and for committing misconduct in public had failed to evoke any response.
