Stunt artistes create corona awareness video from home
Urging people to stay safe during this pandemic, Kollywood fighters have created a video in which they are seen throwing punches and trading blows to deliver the message of unity.
Chennai
Sugan, a stunt artiste, who has worked in many films including Master, Cobra, Theri, Mersal, etc, invited his colleagues representing South Indian Cine Stunt Directors Stunt Artistes Union (SICSDSAU).
“Stunt artistes never sit idle and are always busy working during a film shoot. However, this pandemic has stopped production everywhere. We decided to come up with an idea to create awareness among people to tell them to stay safe at home,” says 28-year-old Sugan. “After speaking to each artiste, we came up with some simple stunts to perform, making sure that none of us gets hurt,” he tells us.
Inspired by a similar video made by a band of South African stunt artistes, the Kollywood fighters’ effort has gained the appreciation of netizens.
Every time a person delivers a punch or a kick in the screen, the scene cuts to another frame were a stunt man falls — as if hit by the punch. He then delivers a counter blow.
