Apart from her, the ALT Balaji series stars Rahul Dev, Harsh Beniwal and Samarth Shandilya among others. The story is about a boy who is on the hunt for his biological mother. It is narrated in a rib-tickling manner. Divinaa plays a Delhi-girl named Mehak in the series.

“I’m glad that my role has resonated with the audience upon the series’ release. Mehak is a typical Delhi-girl, who loves to dress up, wear her jewellery and flaunt her fashion quotient. This is a role that would grab everyone’s attention and not the clichéd types. I was impressed when I heard of this role during the narration and started prepping up for it,” she told DT Next. With a smile, she added that there were traces of Mehak still left in her.

Despite playing the lead role in a period film like Veeram, the actress said that it is also the best time in Indian cinema to land character roles.

“The audience has started recognising neat performances regardless of the character an artiste plays. I don’t want to do run-of-the-mill roles. I also play a guitarist in my upcoming Kannada film Raymo,” she revealed. Divinaa said that it was her short film Hickey directed by Divyansh Pandit and presented by Pradeep Sarkar was one of her huge learning curves.

“That is a short film on social awareness that talks about how Hickey is a mark of love and not embarrassment. It went on to win awards at the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival and several other film festivals. Those are the kind of scripts I want to be a part of,” she added. Divinaa will be next in Netflix series, Baahubali: Before the Beginning.
